Examine a logger's financial stability and records of timely payment; logging practi...ces; care of the site, roads, and remaining trees; safety record; and how salable timber is used. Be sure the logger has liability and workers' compensation insurance.Draw up a contract with both forester and logger. The WWOA has samples of such contracts. Have an attorney review the contracts.
